It is truly "American Scripture," and Maier tells us how it came to be - from the Declaration's birth in the hard and tortuous struggle by which Americans arrived at Independence to the ways in which, in the nineteenth century, the document itself became sanctified. Pauline Maier shows us the Declaration as both the defining statement of our national identity and the moral standard by which we live as a nation. Sam’s personality is extremely lovable in his perfect use of wit and sarcasm. My favorite part of Hold Me Closer, Necromancer was definitely the way in which it made me laugh. The friendships in this novel were excellent, the loyalties among these friends is definitely something to be envious of. What more could a gal ask for? I loved this book so much that I immediately started to read it’s sequel and friends, I just cannot get enough of Sam and his crew. It was full of heart, humor, and well, necromancy.
